For current/recent students

Data Center Research Internship

Type: Internship (part-time, flexible hours)
Fellowship Period: June 21, 2026 – August 21, 2026 (9 weeks)
Priority Application Deadline: June 5, 2026
Compensation: $20/hour, ~20 hours per week
Location: Hybrid (reports to FracTracker’s Pittsburgh office)
***Applicants must reside in southwestern PA. This position requires in person collaboration and field work.
Eligibility: The candidate should be a current undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate, with an interest in datasets, data visualization, mapping, environmental justice, and issues related to extractive industries. Strong applicants will have experience or interest in GIS, ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Online, Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, community engagement, and strong written, verbal, organizational, and data management skills. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. and reside in southwestern PA.

2026 Spring Data & GIS Internship

Type: Internship (Part-time, flexible hours)
Fellowship Period: February 1, 2026 – April 30, 2026
Priority Application Deadline: January 9, 2026
Compensation: $30/hour, 37.5 hours per week
Location: **Applicants must reside in Pennsylvania, Ohio or West Virginia. These
positions are expected to be 100% remote, but may include in person collaboration or field work
depending on location and area of interest.
Eligibility: Applicants must be currently enrolled in or recent graduates of an accredited college or university in a relevant field and demonstrate a strong interest in FracTracker’s mission. Ideal candidates bring an understanding of environmental justice and environmental public health, particularly as they relate to the impacts of oil, gas, and petrochemical development on frontline communities.
