Frac Sand Mining Webinar

July 25 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

- Free
Chieftain Sands - Chetek WI Mine North

Fracking’s Hidden Connection to America’s Breadbasket

Of those familiar with fracking, many are not as familiar with frac sand mining – the process by which industry removes, excavates, and processes silica sand for hydraulic fracturing across the country. Much of this activity is concentrated in the Midwest region of the U.S. and, consequently, impacts farmers and landowners in that region.

Join Halt the Harm for a frac sand mining webinar to learn from Concerned Chippewa Citizens, a dairy farmer and impacted landowner, and FracTracker. The speakers will address issues locally in Wisconsin and beyond. They will also discuss the current ongoing debates on impacts to health, residents, and the environment by the industry. Stay after the presentations for a lively discussion and Q&A section with speakers and other participants.

Speakers:

1. Pat Popple – Concerned Chippewa Citizens
2. Ken Schmitt – Dairy farmer and Impacted landowner
3. Ted Auch – FracTracker Alliance
