Training for

Mapping Resources

FracTracker offers training and support for how to use mapping tools, including the many maps on our website and our mobile app.

We offer training and support for how to use mapping tools, including the many maps on our website and our mobile app. This could be an one-on-one training or a larger group training, and can be held in–person or online.

FracTracker’s maps and other resources are a great resource for concerned residents, medical professionals, public officials, and anyone else looking to learn more about the impacts of the industry. We are happy to cater a training to serve different audiences.

We can also show you ways to collect and map your own data. The FracTracker mobile app and other mobile- or desktop-based tools allow anyone with internet access to add observations, notes, or photos to a map. Your data can be displayed on a static map image or be added in real time to one of our online maps. We can also discuss alternate ways you and your team can collect data without using the internet!

Click the button below to request data, or if you’re not sure how we can help, you can schedule a brainstorming call with FracTracker to discuss options.

This type of information is a great way to strengthen testimony for public comments, inform your community about what’s at risk, and support your own research endeavors.

FRACTRACKER TRAINING EXAMPLES

Here are some examples of past FracTracker trainings:

  • Working with partners, FracTracker trained medical professionals about how to use our mobile app to look up oil and gas wells in the communities they serve.
  • FracTracker presented at a meeting with a community concerned about health impacts from the oil and gas industry to share how to look up fracking waste sites and wells near them.
