Your company may have a matching gift program that can double or even triple the value of your gift! Discover if your company is one of the many that has a matching gift program by which they match some percentage of the value of employees’ charitable gifts. Some will also match the gifts of spouses, retirees, and widows/widowers. Try asking your manager or HR representative if your company has such a program, and as every company will have its own guidelines, be sure to request details about how it works.

On Tuesday, September 29, 2015, West Virginia State University presented its first student-centered Shale Revolution forum entitled “Fracking: In the Beginning Was the Source Rock” … We appreciate the important contribution that Bill Hughes made with his very detailed documentation of the impact the Utica and Marcellus Shale oil and gas explorations have had and are having on communities, the environment in West Virginia, and throughout the region. His photographs, charts/graphs, hand-outs, newspaper articles, and other documents speak volumes of why citizens must be diligent and informed about what is happening in their neighborhoods.
We are currently working on a report titled ‘Disclosing the Facts 2015’ – a collaboration between As You Sow, Boston Common, Green Century, and the Investor Environmental Health Network. The report explores some of the risks of fracking. Our report is greatly enhanced because of the pictures we found on FracTracker’s website. We are so grateful as an organization that FracTracker brings attention to the issues we similarly find important, as well as for enabling Bill Hughes to take such amazing photographs! These photographs are visual evidence of the effects of fracking and speak volumes to people, creating awareness that can spark change.
Launch of the FracTracker Fund – Letter from Our Board President
… As FracTracker approaches its 5th year as an organization, we arrive at a new stage in our growth. Our mission has evolved to include exploration of renewable energy to show and champion the tremendous potential and benefit of these technologies. Maintaining our robust activities addressing oil and gas development and illuminating a better energy path forward has become more challenging, however. Foundational grants provide only a portion of our operational needs. Private donations can – and must – augment that support if we are to continue our critical work in the coming years. As the planet’s temperature continues to rise and the fossil fuel folks continue to drill, the importance of FracTracker’s scrupulous, comprehensive, visually impactful and freely accessible data and analysis becomes more urgent every day.
