Data Center Research Fellow
Mia is a PhD student and Alfred P. Sloan Indigenous Graduate Scholar in environmental science at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and is affiliated with the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment. Her research combines geospatial analysis, data governance, and community-engaged science, with particular attention to Indigenous data sovereignty and the cumulative impacts of industrial development on ecosystems and human livelihoods.
Prior to joining FracTracker, Mia worked across academic, nonprofit, and community settings on projects related to environmental monitoring, climate justice, and data stewardship. She brings training in both ecological and social science methods to her work.
Mia lives in Colorado, where she enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, and exploring local landscapes with her dogs.
