Montana
As of 2017, 53% of producing wells in Montana used hydraulic fracturing. Most oil wells in the state are located near the Brakken Shale formation. Montana regulations require that companies disclose their chemicals used to the government, but exceptions can be made that conceal these chemicals from the public.
