Gwen (she/her/hers) is the Midwest Program Coordinator at FracTracker, working to bolster FracTracker’s Midwest network and aid in mapping and data collection efforts. Gwen applies a critical geography lens to her work at FracTracker. She has a special interest in food systems, remote sensing, and drones.
Prior to joining FracTracker, Gwen received her MS in Environmental Justice and Geospatial Data Science from the University of Michigan. There, she discovered her love of leveraging her geospatial skills for environmental justice causes. During this time she also worked at a dairy goat farm and a restaurant. Gwen enjoys cooking, camping, and exploring Michigan.

Howell Township residents organized a community panel with over 200 attendees to discuss the energy and infrastructure impacts of a proposed data center. After the meeting, the proposal was withdrawn and the township enacted a six-month moratorium.
Over the past eight years, approximately 2,000 incidents associated with oil and gas wells occurred in Ohio. Many incidents were not accurately categorized, meaning much of the data understates the severity of records.
